3 Steps to Perfect Frosé

If you haven't heard of frosé, then you either don't have the internet or you live under a rock. It's everywhere. I hadn't had the chance to try it, so I wanted to try it out on my own at home! It only took 2 tries... I honestly thought the first time, that if I just froze rosé it would be delicious. NOT true, don't try it. One of my favorite cocktail girls on insta told me that when you freeze alcohol, it intensifies the alcohol flavors and something that normally tastes sweet becomes bitter (something to do with science and your tastebuds). Noted. So I added sugar and fruit like the internet said to, and it was MUCH better. I think I could use even less sugar next time, and I'd love to try some different fruit flavors, but overall it was winning combo.

Instructions:

  1. Add Rosé to a small flat dish or pan, put in your freezer
  2. Add water, sugar and strawberries to a pot, cook over medium heat and bring to a boil. Boil for around 5 minutes or until your strawberries have lost their color. Remove and cool.
  3. Strain strawberries from your sugar mixture and toss, add the remaining liquid to your Rosé. Leave to freeze for 6-8 hours (or overnight is best!)

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of Rosé
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 10 fresh strawberries

Once your mixture is frozen it's ready! Scrape with a spoon to create the shave ice looking flakes, add to a bowl or glass and serve! Since your frozen mixture has alcohol, it won't fully freeze which is how you will get it to the slushy consistency, cool right?!

So if I tried it again, I would definitely add some lemon and maybe try raspberry in place of the strawberries. Have you guys tried making frosé? What did you put in yours?
