melon ball mimosas // cocktails

mimosas. one of americas favorite morning cocktails. i've never met a person who doesn't like em. so for

camp mixalot

, they were pretty much a given to welcome the girls. we decided to go with an update though, and serve them with the fruit in a new form. frozen melon balls! they infused the wine with fruity flavor, kept our cocktails cold in the palm springs heat and didn't water it down, win win win.

we set up our bar with a few necessities. herbs to muddle at the bottom of the champagne glasses, small bowls of frozen fruit balls (sharon scooped them out the night before and popped them in the freezer so they were ready to go in the morning), champagne glasses obviously, and finally

one hope sparkling wine

to top it all off.

we served up some mint, basil and rosemary along with cantaloupe, honeydew and watermelon.

then go out by the pool, sip and enjoy ;)

i must have brushed my hair right before this because it looks decent… so i had to share even though it's not very relevant to the post.
