Office #2 Progress | Before + After
It's funny how you start to think when you become a business owner. You basically equate every single thing to a dollar amount. And friends, time is money. I am constantly figuring out which is the best option between things like shipping, having my assistant take care of it, or just doing it myself. And one thing I was holding out on was FINALLY taking care of our guest room. With the recent launch or Wilde House and the growth of A Fabulous Fete, my office was busting at the seams. I needed to take over the guest room (sorry guests! we'll find you a nice hotel). We cleared most of it out and sent large items off to friends or storage. But much of it got stacked up in this sad little closet.
Scary right? I almost got a black eye a few times trying to get stuff out of there. TaskRabbit asked if I wanted to collaborate and I knew this was the perfect project for them. I sent over the description, grabbed some pieces from ikea, and scheduled my Tasker to come in and take care of it.
A Few hours later, I had this beautiful, amazing, made me want to cry, creation.
This would have cost my husband and I precious hours, and maybe some therapy if we would've attempted this ourselves. I was so happy to walk in and have it complete, all while I answered emails, addressed envelopes and finished up projects that were a much better use of my time. I even went back and got extra pieces a few days later to add on, went back into the TaskRabbit app and had someone here in a few hours to help me out. I can honestly say I am addicted. There is Tasker to help you with just about anything you need. If I wasn't such a control freak about how this was supposed to look, I could have even hired a Tasker to do the shopping for me!
So now I have this awesome area for lots of storage and space for shipping which is going to make the workflow so much better for us here. Once I have a few more things completed, I will be sharing the rest of the office and how I made the most of the space!
Oh, and how perfect are these pant racks (made for your closet) for keeping boxes and tissue tidy?!
If you guys haven't checked out or heard of TaskRabbit, download the app or take a look online. Hourly prices for a Tasker are so reasonable, and if you are freaking out because it's Christmas next week (whaaaaat), it would be the perfect time to try them out. Have someone go to the mall for you (because NO ONE wants to be there right now), run out and get your holiday turkey, or even help you set up for your NYE party. You can also use the code FETE to receive $15 off any task between now and 1.15.16. And if you are local, you can check out the Taskers I hired here and here. Prompt, friendly and trustworthy fellas;)
ps. if you're wondering what I actually used for the closet, it was a mix of pieces from the Ikea Algot collection you can see here.
Post in partnership with TaskRabbit, all opinions are my own.
