Mini Matchstick Bottle DIY

I don't know where the obsession came from, but for the longest time I haven't been able to just buy someone a singular gift and be done with it. I love finding (or making) a little something that accompanies the "main" gift. For example, a tiny ring dish to go with a piece of jewelry, or a pretty pen to go with a notebook. I feel like it completes the gift and shows that it wasn't just something you grabbed as quickly as you could.

We made these tiny matchstick bottles at the HauteLook event a few weeks ago and I thought it would be the perfect item to pair with any candles that might be gifted around the holidays. I love this idea for those friends that are hard to buy for, or if you have to do something small for coworkers, this is a great idea to do with mini candles. But, for now, these little guys are ALL over the house. I promise I'll gift a few for the holidays though;)

Supplies:

Fill your bottle with candles until it's full. This is a time consuming process! Make sure to shake it around until they settle so you can fill the bottle.

Cut the strike pad from the match book or box and glue to the bottom or the side of the bottle depending on how flat the bottle is. And that's it! Now you can tie a little ribbon on the top and pair with your candles.

I love having these around the house since we are always lighting candles. Not all matches are good looking... and these make great styling accessories, something I am always looking for when decorating the coffee table or shelves.
