Girls Day Getaway in Laguna Beach
With family and work and crazy schedules, it gets harder and harder to get friends together for a little girl time. So putting a tiny bit of effort into it and planning ahead and making a day of it has been key in rounding us all up. One of my latest obsessions is constantly checking my favorite local hotels for deals. If I find one, it's booked, and I will find a way to make it work for a girls getaway or date night! Recently, there was one that I could not pass up at the Surf and Sand in Laguna Beach. Ryan and I frequent their outdoor lounge on the weekends for cocktails before we head to our fave sushi place. But I had never actually stayed there and needed to change that!
After a bit of planning, I had a perfectly relaxing day for my girls planned complete with massages in our room, robes to relax in, wine and snacks to enjoy, and swag to take home as a souvenir! Once we were all pampered for the day, Ryan met me for our usual, cocktails and sushi to cap off the night.
I set up this little area as the girls entered the makeshift "spa" for the day. Each one of us slipped into these plush Pottery Barn robes.
Everyone had their time for a massage, but with 6 girls, there was a lot of "down" time. Wine is always a good filler;) But we also had a small station with all the goods for DIY manicures compliments of Julep and their amazing line of spring colors!
Refreshing snacks and wine compliments of Seven Daughters.
One of my favorite things to plan for any sort of get together is favors! To go with our pampering theme for the day, we put together a bunch of goodies from Julep for the ladies to enjoy at home. The bags included the Konjac Sponge, cleansing oil, this neutral eyeshadow palette (my favorite!) and lots of nail care items.
I also packed a large bouquet of fresh flowers and once we arrived, put them in separate vases around the room. It was easier than trying to make a full arrangement, but added a bit of life to the room. No party is complete without fresh flowers!
We are all currently checking our schedules to put another one of these days on the calendar! Are you planning your own spa day or getaway? Here are some resources to get you started!
Our favorite spots to eat + drink in Laguna Beach: 15FiftyFive for cocktails (get the kir royal!), San Shi Go for sushi (walk here after cocktails, it's just a few blocks down), gelato at Gelato Paradiso and finally brunch at Coyote Grill the next day.
