Lolly Garland DIY
This is a sweet and easy DIY for a little lollipop garland, or an ornament or cupcake topper…I’m a girl that likes options.
Supplies: (for 6 Lollipops)
1 sheet of 12x12 cardstock (double-sided)
1 Martha Stewart Punch Anywhere on the Page punch (starburst) (found at Michaels, any starburst punch will do, but you might need more paper)
6 Lollipop sticks
About 6 ft of ribbon/twill tape/twine
Cut 6 - 1” wide strips off the sheet. Using the punch, punch 12 starbursts out of the remaining paper.
2. Accordion fold each of the strips.
Make a loop with one folded strip and dollop a thin line of hot glue on the end. Attach the other end, flatten and let cool. Repeat for all strips.
Place one starburst right side down. Add a larger drop of hot glue.
Form accordion loop into a star by pushing one side towards the center.
Press down center into the starburst’s glue. Hold in place until cool.
Add a second drop of hot glue in the center and attach the second starburst. You have now made a medallion. YAY!
Add a drop of hot glue on the top end of a lollipop stick.
Insert glue end into the medallion, below the starburst and between the folds.
At this point, you have some pretty cute lollipops.
. Embellish as desired. I added some buttons, but they are just as sweet plain.
. Find and mark the center of the garland. Add a drop of hot glue to the back of the lollipop.
. Press the twill tape into the glue, making sure that the tape remains straight from one lollipop to the next. If you don’t the garland will be twisted.
Feel free to put the lollipops on a little slanted, they are cuter that way.
Use these on gifts or in a tree as an ornament.
I have even used these for cupcake toppers for a holiday party.
EASY PEASY STICKER GARLAND
Okay, so I am obsessed with my new punch and had to try it out again. The world’s easiest homemade garland…made using the exact same punch.
Supplies:
Martha Stewart Punch (see above)
One sheet of Kraft Paper Labels (Full Sheet or Half Sheet style)
Twine or string in desired length
1. Use the punch to punch out a bunch of starbursts, you are making stickers.
2. Take off backing of a starburst and center the twine across it.
3. Fold in half to seal around the twine.
Repeat as many times as needed to make desired length.
Use this to adorn a tree, a dessert buffet or wrap around a present.
Enjoy.
