sheer leaf place card // diy
happy monday everyone! hope you all had a fabulous weekend. today i'm sharing a super simple way to spruce up your dinner party place settings or even your wedding place settings. i found these gorgeous sheer dried leaves at the craft store one day and knew they would be perfect for something (one of my biggest problems though... buying things without a project planned... knowing i just have to have them for something, anything!). so i used a black gel pen and embellished with guests names to use as place cards. so easy, only took a few minutes and adds so much interest to a plain setting! since they are sheer, it works best to use the same color pen as the plate you will be setting the leaf on. it will add the most contrast
i love to find inspiration from nature, whether it is by taking a walk around the neighborhood, or exploring new in new places. i think adding something natural, like these leaves or just a sprig of your favorite herb, adds life to a setting like this. without it, things can get a bit dull. and this shows that using natural elements doesn't always have to mean you are creating a rustic vibe. use those elements with contrasting ideas like hot pink fabric and modern flatware. mix it up and try new things!
