how to host a girls only spa happy hour
lately it seems as if my friends and i all have a lot going on. whether it be personal, family or work stress
…
it's present, so i thought we all deserved a few hours of pampering.
had asked if i wanted to try out some of their products with some girlfriends, and it couldn't have come at a better time! so i sent out a quick invite and pulled together a short list of necessities for a girls only happy hour.
right after work was a great time to catch all the girls before heading home to their families. you can get away with serving light snacks instead of an elaborate dinner spread. and let's be honest, everyone needs a cocktail friday after work
…
so it just worked.
i told everyone to bring some comfy clothes to change into and relax. finally a girls night where we wore sweats and no makeup. i love getting dolled up, but i have to admit, this may have been even better.
i set out a few bouquets made with grocery store blooms, the
tata harper skincare try-me kits
at each setting, white candles, snacks, water and of course
…
champagne.
i mixed some pillows and pieces of furniture from inside with pieces we already had outside and created a really cozy seating area. i also chose a few colors to stick with to keep decor planning simple. black and white are always my go to colors, and i threw in some shades of pink and natural green pops.
i've been kind of a freak about being outdoors lately. it's just too nice not to be enjoying it. so i transformed our pergola into a spa oasis draped with breezy white curtains. and since we were outside, i knew the girls would need a way to see themselves when trying out the product. i purchase mini mirror pieces from the craft store and placed them on easels. they were the perfect size for the table and a super inexpensive touch!
i picked out a few tees from our
inventory and gave each girl one to wear with whatever else they brought.
after we all got settled, we opened up the
that i packaged in small muslin bags. we tried out every single product while sipping champagne and catching up. the smell of the product was AMAZING. just the scent itself made you feel like you were at a spa!
my friends are brave girls. here we are trying it out
…
no makeup and super stylish hair ;)
after a bit i served a salad that i had pre-made and pre-portioned into small glasses. i felt like i had to do something semi healthy! will share the recipe this week.
the few hours that we were all able to escape and relax was perfect! i feel like i say it all the time, but we really need to take out time more often to do simple things like this for ourselves. the fact that you can buy a
mini spa day in pre-packaged portions
from tata harper just makes it even better.
so how do you guys like to pamper yourself? i think we need to make spa happy hours more of a "thing" right? well
…
i'm giving away a set of goodies from tata harper tomorrow on the blog so you can host a get together just like i did! stop back by to enter then!
