Simple Holiday Wrapping
I try and eat organic, I use Method kitchen spray, I separate my recyclables, I even use LED lightbulbs….so you can see I’m reallllly trying to do my part for Mother Nature. However, I haven’t always thought this way when it comes to gift wrap. In the past I was in the more, more, more category, when it came to festive gift wrap. You know, first start with wrapping paper, or a bag with tissue paper and then add ribbon, bows, gift tags, you name it! In the end though, we all know that stuff ends up in the trash and it just feels pretty wasteful. This year I decided to try a simpler, less wasteful way to wrap.
All you need are these simple flour sack dishtowels (that the recipient can reuse), an ornament and some greenery.
First set the item you are wrapping in the middle of the dishtowel.
Next grab one corner along with the opposite corner and tie those two together.
Do the same with the two corners that are left.
Then tie all of them together to get that serious top knot!
Lastly, tuck in the greenery (or herbs/flowers) and add the ornament as a topper.
For tags, think about items the recipient might keep as well! You could use a pretty vintage postcard, a mini glass ornament, or a tiny frame.
