a new twist on rustic // cwd magazine feature
back in december of last year i designed a table for a feature in california wedding day magazine. of course it was painful not to share anything for so long! i finally picked up a few copies and scanned in the pages to share with you guys.
the direction of the shoot was to design a table top that reflected a new twist on the rustic trend. you can read more above about my inspiration and a few of the details.

i also took a few iphone pics (below), more close ups of the decor on the table.
each place card and menu was hand lettered, and sat next to a personalized favor. for each guest, i built mini cake stands. they each contained a trio of gourmet salts and a picture that was unique to each person. the idea behind the pictures included in the favors were that you could pull from each of your guests facebook or instagram feed and surprise them with your fave. i know i've said it a million times before, but i love favors that are useful and personal. i think this one hit both of those points!
i mixed wood accents with silver, mint, emerald and a little bit of cork.
crystal strands were attached to the back of each seat to contrast the rustic vibe of the chairs.
and jenny of florals by jenny did an incredible job for the centerpieces. i asked her to create something overflowing and natural with emerald and white touches to blend with the color palette. she knocked it out of the park and knew exactly what the table needed.
what do you think of the rustic trend? i feel like we are moving away from the super deconstructed rustic and into something with more of a clean pulled together look..
